Reverse hi-low open back wildcard

2nd day off in a row... much needed. Just a day to bum around and do errands.

This wrap-back top is a total no name brand bought for 0.50. I did not know if I would feel comfortable with the exposed back, trim waist, and longer front, but it is a fun change. I worried about my prominent backside being exposed, but I used to wear my tops much shorter back around 2000 and soon felt comfy again. I feel like I could wear this with a draped skirt and feel very Helmut as well. I can also wear it backward for a cropped wrap effect.

Paired with Big Star jeans from Nordies and Tsubo sandals and Kelsi Dagger bag from the flea market.

Urban Warrior Mermaid

A real, honest-to-goodness day off! And I get two days in a row for once, without having to injur myself...

Dressed for the Botanical Garden, Lowe's, Ikea, and general loafing. Vince linen joggers from Ebay, Young Fabulous and Broke tank from Marshall's, and
Mackage Kenya jacket from Ebay. Croc's mini wedge sandals, Pewter Wolf necklace, and flea market Kelsi Dagger bag for accessories.

Beachy and aquatic items have been infiltrating my look lately. I do not know if the influence is summer or my new residence, but you may see more of the UWM!

Playfully Divergent

Labor laws are forcing me to take a break today, lol. It's about time I had more fun with fashion for myself... a couple people mentioned today that this was a different look for me, but the DH said it was playful. :)

Happy NASing!

Smart Casual Coattails & Caviar

DH went on a bike ride this morning, so I was able to make some time for outfit photos! Yay!

New T Tahari wrap back blazer and John Varvatos men's sunnies bought during Clear the Racks online. I didn't think the jacket looked that great on the model, but I adore it in person. Very Helmut Lang to my eye, and with my discount I think I paid all of $30 for it. Bwahaha!

Worn with new-to-me damaged HL tank - bought for $2.50 a while back at the flea market. Came with a large rip/hole in the back, so I decided to rip some more holes in it and call it "destroyed." I'll wear it with the destruction on display some weekend for you. :) Threw my caviar sandals on bottom to bookend jacket and also because I hurt my back the other day and needed a very low and stable shoe.

Bonus 6-7 wide legs from the flea market. What do you call those in 7? Gauchos?? Culottes? o_0

Taking some deep, healing breaths today before the mad rush to pull for my first NAS appointments! *wheeze, wheeze*

Ripped, Cropped, and Peeped

I'm amazed I got through the day today...

We started out with the good news that our loan has funded! Yay, Fund Day! But soon after, we learned that we still would not be allowed to move in until the deal is officially recorded... maybe as late as tomorrow afternoon. Not so bad, except we've already changed our movers' appointment twice, and they're supposed to come at 8am. -_-

Anyway... this must have been a good outfit, because I got lots of compliments despite feeling like I was about to throw up or faint from stress all day. I was pleased with how well the gray undershirt blended in with the distressed jeans - and, I am thrilled with the comfort factor on these $10 Tsubos! I will be buying more from this brand fo sho

Bonus Fund Day faces and a shot from my out-to-dinner-with-visiting-cousins outfit in #5, featuring the same Tsubos.

Madewell linen tank - Madewell
True Religion Cameron jeans - Amazon

Beaded, baggy, big kitty (inspired by Anna)

Anna's Green & Black outfit totally inspired me to pull out my F21 big kitty tee (which the designer manager complimented as being "very Givenchy" - yay)! I really wanted to do a leather jacket like Anna did, but the print of my shirt is very easily obscured. I tried about a billion different permutations, but I ultimately settled on the flared skirt to add a touch of dressiness to the sporty cut of the tee as well as a bit of edge because of the volume-on-volume nature of the combo.

I also really, really wanted to wear these beaded Enzo sandals, which my customer initially spotted in pink (I nabbed those, too). They are jellies with just enough of a heel for me to get the effect of flats without the arch pain and tripped-up gait. These sure aren't UWP shoes, but I seriously love the sheer ridiculousness of them. I plan to wear these as pump alternatives to dress up BF jeans as well.

I don't really count my bag as part of the outfit, because it just happens to be The Bag I've Not Yet Packed and I only carried it to and from my car. However, pic #2 shows my bag and bracelets. :)

F21 Panter tee - $5 at flea market
H&M skirt - $5 sale at H&M
House of Harlow sunburst necklace - $20 at the Rack
Enzo sandals - Macy's (Nordies had them but sold out before I got to 'em!)
Anya Hindmarch bag - Ebay
Pearl bracelet stack - $1 at flea market
Stone cuff bracelet - Buenos Aires flea market
Aviators - Nordies

Urban Tomboy in paper bag trousers, tee, and trainers

In our efforts to escape our (literally) packed apartment, DH and I hit up the flea market on my day off, and I could not wait to share some finds. Also, it looks like our loan is on the verge of funding and that we could (knock on wood) get our keys this week, so I suddenly find myself able to do more than worry, work, and drink. o_0

In any case, I'd noticed a fair amount of paper bag waists in Fall collections (Rodarte?), so I was super excited to find this pair of trousers for a cool fifty cents. I doubt they were the height of fashion in their retail day, but they brought a lot of nice compliments on the sales floor today. I love that these sit nice and low on my waist and will hold a roll at the ankle.

I also had been on the hunt for a pair of "trainers," which I mentally distinguish from "sneakers" or "tennis shoes" as something that looks like a more serious sport shoe. I wouldn't want to do any kind of "training" in Converse, for example, so my Ash sneakers feel more punk than sporty to me. I had already tried and eliminated wedge trainers by Puma and Ash when I found these navy Tsubos at the flea market for $10. I nearly squealed when I put them on - stay tuned for two other retail-friendly $10 foot acquisitions as well. The closest approximation still available by Tsubo is collected below - I had heard great things about their comfort, and these did not disappoint.

PS: Greg and Angie, I really love the new categories that can be added to collected items!

Aviators - Nordies
Theyskens Theory top - Rack
Men's belt - flea market
Apostrophe Petites pants - flea market
Anya Hindmarch bag - Ebay
Tsubo Drilon wedge sneaks - flea market
Cami - F21

Backlog: Basketball shorts, Blues, Blazers, and Black

Off to bed before a busy day, but I wanted to throw these pics up on the blog before I forget all about them. Super casual furniture/craigslist shopping/game outfit, professional look for a company recognition meeting (got to see all the heavy hitters get awards - inspiring! I wish I had straightened my blazer for the pic, though), and a normal work outfit. The new-to-me snake top is a Frenchi tank from the flea market - was never expensive to begin with, but it has become a fast favorite. Say what you will about rayon, but it is one of my favorite fabrics for its light weight, drape, and soft feel.

Now it's off to bed like a good girl, so I can get up early and sign loan docs before work. :) Hope to be back in prime commenting form next month!

Coming Up Rose Gold

Remember this jacket? I bought and sold it for a profit back in September. At the time, I was worried it was too flashy. I regretted it a while after being in my current department, and it finally came back, lower than what I originally paid. It was a bit of a stress purchase, but I have no regrets except that my poses obscured the hi-low hem of my tee.

In other news, my home loan fiiiiiinally went through! Behold the power of the forum, lol! Thank you so much to all who commented. We hope to sign this Friday and move next Friday - fingers crossed... 0 _o

Motorcycle Polka

Yesterday. Took the pics but was too exhausted to post legibly. I keep avoiding this top because of the whimsical print, even though it is otherwise super flattering and awesome (shout out to the Shoptoberfest swap party!), so I thought I'd try it with a tough moto. I was also kind of worried about the baggy pants looking clownish with the dots, so I pulled them up like capris. Can't find the jacket on a site that accepts Finds, so here is the link (mine is from Ebay). Did I do okay? This is quite the different silhouette from the tailored legginess of the other day.
